Labor-HHS-Education

The annual appropriations bill that most greatly affects people with disabilities is the Labor-Health and Human Services (HHS)-Education appropriations bill. This bill funds programs including the National Institutes of Health (NIH); the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); the Social Services, Maternal and Child Health, and Child Care and Development block grants; early childhood intervention through Head Start; job training; administration of Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security; assistive technology grants and educational projects of national significance authorized by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
