mild cp/have questions
Michelle Polston (mr.cj@daviscomp.com)
I have a 10 yr. old son with mild cp. For the first 9 yrs. of his life we were told he was mentally retarted, developmentally delayed and that he had ADHD. I did some research on the net and found an article on CP, it was him! I printed it and took it to my ped. and said "Tell me this isn't what is wrong with my son!" A few months later we saw a neuro. dr. and he had no trouble dia. him with CP. Although it is a mild case he is so different and it seems the older he gets the more trouble he has. I love my son with all my heart, he is my greatest joy, I just don't know what to do or how to help. He has recently started having trouble controling his bladder. How can I send him back to school knowing that any strong emotion will cause him to wet himself? Kid's are so cruel, they won't understand what is happening, I don't even understand. Anyone have any good advice for me? I don't think putting an undergarment for bladder contol will help, i am afraid he will become dependent on it and stop trying to solve the problem. We go see our ped. in a few weeks, hopefully she can help, but i am not hopeful.
