bathing and grocery store
Ann Marie B (alilkittin4u@aol.com)
Hi I lurk through the post here occasionally and came across yours. I have a 15 month old with hypotonic cp and ? of it being mixed type. Since she has almost no trunkal tone and virtually no balcance I completly understand this furstation. I have found that using a tub chair in the kitchen sink works best it is small and comfy for her. Her feet rest up againts the sides of the sink and we put a large sponge behind her head, like the ones you use to wash your car. The grocery store is another issue in itself. I have a step two car that I use for her it forces her to sit proper and can stap her in. The downfalls are I had to adapt it by taking a small pillow and velcroing it to the handle so she does not bang her head when arching. If your little one has any spasticity it may not be a good idea since the car has limited foot room. It is great for Kyleigh because it keeps her feet from slipping out from under her but I would think it could be bad for spastic type . I hope this helps . Ann-Marie
