Well I was afraid of running out of thread room, so here goes the rest of my thought process. I found out about this surgery last year February(02) in TIme Magazine and then through a followup on CNN Health. I did more research because my Daughter has Spastic diplegia and at the time was 6yrs old, and doing very well with Botox injections to reduce spasticity in her legs. After much thought and prayer we got in touch with St. Louis childrens Hopsital and met Dr. Park armed with two pages of questions from all of the dr's and therapists. We went ahead with the surgery in May.. The results have been fantastic. My daughter walked slowly in a walker and had poor coordination and balance. She is now running in her walker and learning to use fore-arm crutches. She can support herself completely and her balance and coordination are incredible. It has been nearly a year since the surgery and she is till getting stronger and better every day. The best thing of all is that tightness in legs is no longer a CP issue we have to deal with so we can concemtrate on other areas. This is truly a miracle. I encourage anyone with a child with mild to moderate CP to go to the St Louis Childrens Hospital website and start learning as much as you can, feel free to email me with any questions or post them here.
