doing stretches when they don't want to
Hello, MY SON IS ALSO TREE AND HAS SPASTIC DIPLEGIA. WE HAVE GONE THROUGH MANY EPISODES OF SREAMING AND YELLING WHEN IT IS TIME TO DO STRETCHES. TI SEEMS THE OLDER HE GETS, THE HARDER IT IS. i CAN SYMPATHIZE WITH YOU!! i HAVE HAD TO MAKE STRETCH TIME A NORMAL PART OF HIS DAILY ROUTINE. EVERY MORNING WHEN HE GETS UP AND EVERY EVENING BEFORE BED. AT FIRST HE WOULD GET SOME SORT OF TREAT IF HE COOPERATED AND THAT ALWAYS HELPED. I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE THIS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS EATING, SLEEPING, BRUSHING HIS TEETH, AND BATHING. I WANT HIM TO KNOW THAT IT IS NECESSARY AND HE WILL HAVE TO DO IT THE REST OF HIS LIFE. HOWEVER, THERE ARE DAYS WHEN HE HAS JUST HAD ENOUGH AND NEEDS TO BE LEFT ALONE. hE NEEDS A BREAK SOMETIMES FROM LIFE JUST LIKE THE REST OF US DO. wELL GOOD LUCK AND HANG IN THERE!
